- Shenkman Arts Centre Wednesdays noon to 5pm, once every 4 or 5 weeks; Ben Franklin Place Thursdays 1:00 to 4:00pm once every 4 or 5 weeks.
Preference for one person to work in both Community Galleries: Atrium Gallery, Nepean and Trinity Art Gallery, Orleans
However, you may indicate if you prefer to work just in one centre Atrium Gallery, Ben Franklin Place or Trinity Art Gallery Shenkman Arts Centre

- Qualifications / Qualités requises
- • Minimum high school education
• Background in the visual arts (preferred) however background in the arts would be an asset.
• Friendly, punctual, courteous, appreciative manner that exhibits an interested in the arts and the ability to converse with artist(s) and viewers about the artwork.
• Ability to work with a single artist or groups of artists as a supportive, interested, knowledgeable assistant
• Knowledge about visual art history and techniques, art galleries, design principles and aesthetics
• Possess technical skills: ability to measure, stand on ladders, adjust ceiling lighting, level paintings and install gallery labels
• Word, Excel
• Bilingualism an asset

- This position came about in order to further promote equal service delivery between the Community Galleries in the West and East. Therefore, it is preferable that one person take on the job of Community gallery technician assisting in all the galleries: Atrium Gallery, Trinity Art Gallery Salon A and Trinity Art Gallery Salon B, plus two respective Community Exhibition Spaces: Nepean Fine Arts League Gallery at Ben Franklin place and Promenade Arteast at Shenkman Arts Centre
• Art centre programmer will train and have technicians (art specialists) on hand to assist exhibiting artists with the installation of their artwork
• the artists would arrive and unpack their exhibitions and layout their artwork where they would like it to be positioned in the gallery
• Within the framework of set hours (3 hours per installation day at Ben Franklin Place (BFP) on Thursday afternoon and 5 hours per installation day at Shenkman Arts Centre (SAC) on Wednesday afternoon) the technician would be in the gallery with the artists assisting the artists and with hanging their artwork correctly and safely, installing labels, adjusting lights and performing duties as needed.
• Within the framework of hours set above, the technician also assist with installation of artwork at Promenade Arteast and Nepean Fine Arts League Community Exhibition spaces
