Current Fitness Certification from a recognized fitness certification organization (or equivalent as deemed acceptable by management).
Minimum of six (6) months experience or equivalent apprenticeship.
Accepted certifications include, but not limited to: YM-YWCA; Can Fit Pro; Ontario Fitness Council; or, recognized certification from other provinces. Specialty certification, or proven experience, training and ability OR A combination of qualifications over and above those required to teach standard or mainstream group fitness classes. Specializations may include, but are not limited to: yoga, spinning, pilates, special coaching, specialty seniors, and possibly certain types of dance or other alternatives not normally in the repertoire of instructors with standard certification.
Valid CPR ‘C’ Certification.
Valid Standard First Aid Certification.
A valid Ontario unrestricted G class driver’s license (or provincial equivalent) with no more than 6 demerit points accumulated and have own transportation.
The successful candidate will be required to complete a Police Record Check to the City of Ottawa’s satisfaction.
