EDUCATION:
Four year Therapeutic Recreation degree or a three year general degree with a Therapeutic Recreation Diploma
EXPERIENCE:
Minimum Range of Year: 3 to 5 years
Type: Therapeutic Recreation Adult Day Program/ABI /Special Needs/Rehab/Community
CERTIFICATE/LICENSE: Valid Standard First Aid / CPR ‘C’ Certification Valid CPI Certification AODA Customer Service (Servability Training) Current Automated External Defibrillator (A.E.D.) Operator Certificate
KNOWLEDGE: Legislation protecting rights of special needs client, populations Client care Health and Safety legislation, policies and procedures City of Ottawa and Parks & Recreation Branch Policies and Procedures Professional standards of practice, legislative requirements and Policy/Procedures
COMPETENCIES/ SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Ability to lead small groups Leadership skills Well developed understanding of TR tools Able to design rehab and adapted recreation programming
