				- The Recreational Skating School (RSS) is a recreational learn-to-skate program offered at arenas around the city, 7 days a week. The skating school offers programs in recreational skating, speed skating, and inline in the spring and summer months. We are looking for energetic, creative, and fun individuals who have a passion for skating and coaching. Various backgrounds are needed - figure skating, hockey, ringette, and speed skating.
The instructor job position requires the following:
• Responsible for teaching learn to skate programs offered throughout the week at City of Ottawa arenas to skaters of varying levels aged 2 to adult
• Part-time position, seasonal
• Create and implement lesson plans based on skating school curriculum
• Responsible for on-ice safety of students, including first aid / CPR C / AED
• Responsible for reporting to head coach and program coordinator
• Must attend mandatory training and meetings
• Responsible for interacting with students and providing feedback to parents on an ongoing basis
• Responsible for ongoing evaluation of students based on skating school curriculum and providing report cards at the end of the season
