English Sports / Sports Public Skating Attendant Outdoor Rinks Public Skating Attendant (ability to skate is not required) Seeking Expressions of Interest

Subject: Outdoor refrigerated Rink Attendants (ability to skate is not required).

Work schedule will commence on Nov 23rd or Dec 1st depending on the rink ( also weather dependent). Weekday/weekend shifts, daytime and evening will be available. Training will take place prior to your first shift.

Description:
• Supervise public skating on a Refrigerated Outdoor Rink.
• Supports public health measures associated with outdoor rinks including monitoring established gathering limits, educating residents on physical distancing requirements, administering health checks and contact tracing processes and providing some enhanced cleaning of fieldhouses for high touch points such as door knobs and counters.

Pay: $14.280 per hour.

Work Location: Four Refrigerated outdoor rinks (Lansdowne, Jim Tubman Chevrolet, Ben Franklin Place and Rink of Dreams).

Shifts may vary week to week*

Arena Ushers will be responsible for:

• Greeting clients at the door to educate arena safety measures and facility etiquette;
• Informing participants at the door they will need to wait until designated volunteer (safety officer) arrives ;
• Greet contract holder or assigned volunteer (safety officer) at the door;
• Provide facility details to volunteers and participants;
• Inform and educate clients:
o Facility Directional Flow
o Water Fountains are closed except for filling stations
o Washrooms closed in change rooms… direct them to closest washroom
o Encourage 2 metre distancing, hand sanitizer
o Ensure all clients are wearing masks through in the facility
o Indicate assigned skate tying areas to participants/parents
• Supply safety officer with changeroom key after verifying their pre-screening is complete.
• Remind clients that social areas are not permitted and a continue to educate flow through the lobby.
• Maintain head count for each booking for spectators and participants
• Educate spectators to leave the facility as soon as their booking is complete and wait outside or in their vehicle to allow spectators in for the next booking
• Remind parents/guardians that they have no access to change rooms after their child is read with gear on.
• If any issues arise, observe, inform designated volunteer and supervisor.
