- Qualifications / Qualités requises
- • Must have experience teaching Learn to Swim Programs
• Must have programming experience
• Should have the ability to handle crisis/emergency situations
• Must hold the following current certifications: Standard First Aid, CPR level C, AED, Oxygen, NLS, Red Cross Instructor, Lifesaving Instructor, Advanced Instructor. IT status would be considered an asset.
• Must have all City of Ottawa required mandatory training (ie: AODA, Core Training, High-5, etc.)

- The free 8 week program targets new Canadians who have had limited opportunities to participate in swimming lessons. The program focuses on drowning prevention and water safety education while also providing invaluable swimming skills through a combination formal instruction and directed water play.
The coordinator will be responsible for the coordination of this program at as many as 10 aquatic facilities, with the assistance of facility staff.
Key tasks:
• Further develop program content
• Develop participant/program progress and evaluation sheets
• Develop and maintain staff training modules and recruit and train staff
• Develop and maintain participant registration procedures
• Seek out program participants and assist with registration process
• Oversee program equipment inventory and ordering within set budget
• Coordinate busing/transportation for participants
• Assist with the coordination of program launch and wrap-up events
• Coordinate parent’s day activities
• Monitor program delivery and provide content modifications as required
• Complete staff evaluations
• Engage in advertising activities as required to ensure sustained program participation
