- Afternoon and/or evening shifts on Wednesdays, from October 2nd to November 6th, 2024. The exact number of hours is subject to programming needs. Shifts would occur between 12pm and 7:30pm.

- We are looking for a cooking instructor interested in supporting our upcoming programming at SAW Centre where simple, nutritious, and affordable recipes will be taught to older adults (55+) and young adults in a series of six workshops. Presented by “Food Mamas” from the Ottawa community, these workshops are meant to encourage intergenerational exchange and the sharing of knowledge with a focus on multicultural culinary traditions.
The cooking instructor will oversee and support the cooking preparation and demonstration of the “Food Mamas” on the Wednesday workshops. Proof of food handling certification is mandatory.
Additional responsibilities include attending an instructor information session, supervising audience participation and registration during the workshop events, and maintaining food safety standards throughout the workshops.

- The Mama Food Project is a pilot program funded by the New Horizons Seniors grant and organized by the City of Ottawa and SAW Centre. These workshops will celebrate the social relations of food while promoting food literacy, healthy eating, and cultural identity.
